How It Works

Elopement packages are offered most days with a minimum of 72 hours notice. Contact hello@hawkinsloop.com to request availability. Guests are responsible for obtaining and providing the necessary North Carolina marriage license documentation and bringing two witnesses.

Once a date is confirmed, our curated team of award-winning photography, video, floral, and food partners will contact you directly to finalize your order (including food allergies), process payment, and provide cancellation terms. Everything you order will be delivered to The Land at Hawkins Loop and ready upon your arrival.

Visit a Register of Deeds office in any of North Carolina's 100 counties to process the required paperwork and receive your marriage license. Two witnesses will be required to observe your ceremony and sign your certificate. The officiant cannot serve as a witness.
Your marriage license is required prior to the ceremony. Your officiant is solely responsible for returning the signed license to the Register of Deeds. A confirmation email will be sent to you to confirm delivery or certified mail tracking details within 4 days of your ceremony.

The Hawkins Loop staff will greet you upon arrival, ready to show you to your ceremony site. All of your add-on's will be on-site by the time you arrive. Ceremonies are approximately 30 minutes long, allowing ample time for photos, refreshments, and relaxing.

The Land at Hawkins Loop is a 5-star, family-owned, 63-acre nature-based event venue in Hurdle Mills (Person County, NC) a short, scenic drive from Durham and Hillsborough. Our address is 294 Hawkins Loop, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541.
Can I bring my own vendors?

While our add-on services are optional, clients may not bring outside vendors to The Land at Hawkins Loop at this time. Our team of wedding vendors has worked together to curate a customizable elopement package that saves you time, energy, and money. New vendors must be approved by The Land at Hawkins Loop. Do you offer packages for larger groups?

Yes! We have a limited number of dates throughout the year when the property is available for private rentals for up to 150 guests. If you have questions about other types of events, such as vow renewals or engagements, we’d love to hear about it. We are happy to discuss your vision. Contact hello@hawkinsloop.com to learn more.
Do you offer refunds?

For The Land at Hawkins Loop venue and officiant booking, cancellations more than 14 days in advance of your reservation are refunded at 50%. Within 14 days of your scheduled event, your payment to reserve the venue and officiant is non-refundable. However, we are happy to apply your payment to a different date at The Land at Hawkins Loop within six months of the original date. All other vendors’ individual cancellation and refund policies apply.
Is the venue handicap accessible?

The Land at Hawkins Loop does not meet ADA Accessibility Guidelines. While we do offer ceremony and photo sites that guests can access on flat grass and dirt pathways with many types of mobility devices, we are always working to make the property more supportive and inclusive.
